Chef Shirin Gprakhpurwala

SHIRIN GORAKHPURWALA

Shirin Zakiuddin, born in a traditional Dawoodi Bohra Muslim family from a small town of Rajasthan
– Banswara.
Could only complete her High School education and got married at an early age of 18.
A mother of two kids always had a zeal to do something unique. Did various jobs like babysitting,
selling mehandi cones, perfumes, garments and even few months in real estate.
Shifted to Lake City – Udaipur and realized her passion for cooking.
Started home cooking for small kitties and birthday parties. To polish her culinary skills, she joined
the culinary classes by Chef Vimal Dhar and Chef Sangeeta Dhar.
 Qualified for Auditions of Master Chef India 2016 – Semi-Finals (New Delhi) and 2019.
 Winner of the First Season of Star Chef Competition, Udaipur – 2016. Awarded by a Celebrity Chef
Harpal Singh Sokhi.
 She conducted a workshop on kitchen hygiene and cooking at MSB Educational Institute,
Banswara.
 She got an opportunity to cook meals and snacks for the Spiritual leader of the Dawoodi Bohra
Community, His Holiness Dr Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin Saheb.
 Received the honour by Shouryagarh Resort to inaugurate the Star Chef – Season 2 (2017)
along with Celebrity Chef Kunal Kapur.
 Worked as a Trainee Chef in Hotel Radisson Blu, Udaipur.
 She served Bohri food to celebrity Chef Varun Inamdar in Udaipur.
 She got the opportunity to conduct a food workshop for Wonderchef products by Chef Sanjeev
Kapoor.
 She was awarded a Jury nomination in the India Home Chef and Baker Awards 2020.
She further plans to expand her Restaurant – Tastebuds to various cities through franchise. She is a
perfect example of hard work, determination, confidence and vision. She always carries herself in
gracious libas (Rida) with a Chef coat.
Started her own restaurant – Tastebuds Restaurant in her hometown, Banswara, in 2019, and
running it successfully.
Nothing could stop her from working and receiving support from her family, and above all, her passion. She later
started a business of making and supplying home-made frozen food and ready-to-eat curries.
She started her Cloud Kitchen in the City of Lakes, Udaipur, in 2024, with her daughter Arwa as the
partner.
Shifted recently to Nashik, Maharashtra to pursue her dream – now a life goal to open her own
fine-dining restaurant and a Cloud kitchen in Nashik, and to start her journey of opening a chain of
Food outlets PAN India through franchising.
Her hobbies are travelling and poetry/shayari writing.
